I think therefore that Major Macpherson should be at once in communication with the Master of the Mint with a view to the selection of the four principal subordinate officers for the new mint. He must be desired to submit their names for the Governor's approval, together with testimonials that it is possible that their services may be dispensed with, and distinctly that their salaries will not commence until the arrangements for the establishment of the mint are completed.
